Origins of Organic Gardening

I was truly surprised by the explosive interesting in organic gardening, so much so that I just had to find out what all the hoopla was about.  Much to my amazement . . . And amusement, organic gardening is actually the only form of gardening that I knew existed!  When I was coming up, we always had a organic backyard garden because there were 4 kids that had to eat.  We did not use pesticides or insecticides because they were too expensive and we always recycled, not for the sake of mother earth but for the sake of survival.

The first thing that you simply must do is determine your reasoning for organic gardening.  If your motivation is the environment, then we are moving in the correct direction.  It will be necessary for you to stay clear of synthetic materials and use what nature provides through your environment.  The strategy behind organic gardening is focused on sustainable development so that the land used today can continue to be used by the future generations because we have left a healthy ecosystem.

Be very aware that certain aspects of organic gardening can be somewhat daunting when attempting to control weeds, insects and diseases.   You will also find that organic gardening requires far more attention to soil and plant needs so having the proper organic gardening supplies is essential to your success.

Unbelievably, the history of organic vegetable gardening has now come full circle and we are now practicing the habits of the ancients that came long before our existence. The ending result being that we eat healthy without consuming harmful chemicals and disturbing the ecosystem.
